Rail-guided systems with ASi-5 from SEW-EURODRIVE

Rail-guided systems include transport systems such as electric monorail systems, floor conveyors, and cross transfer carriages, which are primarily used in internal logistics—for example, in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, or assembly—for efficient and flexible material transport.

ASi-5 technology sets new standards in communication technology and expands the areas of application for the decentralized, modular MOVI-C® automation system. Used as rail bus communication for system solutions, ASi-5 enables fast commissioning and easy integration of devices.

Stationary

• Open system connection of the stationary, higher-level plant control system with the ASi-5 Railbus Device DC 60 V:
  • With possible communication interfaces PROFINET, EtherNet/IPTM
  • Up to 2 line segments with a maximum of 200 m each
  • Up to 40 mobile participants
  • Short communication cycle with 40 ms at 17 bytes per vehicle
• Switch control (optional)

Mobile

• Preconfigured ASi-5 gateway for fast commissioning and reliable communication
• MOVI-C® CONTROLLER type UHX25A with MOVIKIT® RailGuidedSystems  application software module
• Inverters from the MOVI-C® automation kit, e.g., MOVITRAC® advanced
• Mechanically decouplable overhead conveyor gear motors
