The AS-Interface Organisation in the UK has a new chairman and a new office. The new chairman is Peter Cheetham (Sigmapi Systems Ltd). With new ideas and enthusiasm he supports the growing AS-Interface market in the UK.
The new chairman replaces Geoff Hodgkinson, who has taken new commitments. Carried by the good situation of the members Peter is looking forward to an optimistic future. When asked how Peter felt about his new role he said, "I am truly honoured that my fellow Alliance members voted for me to become the new voice of AS-Interface in the UK. As a staunch supporter of this technology and the benefits it can bring, I will work to take its popularity in the UK to a new high. We will promote education and training in AS-Interface and AS-i Safety at Work so that these technologies are used and applied correctly. The AS-Interface Expert Alliance has a huge part to play in UK industry and I am looking forward to working with Alliance members to achieve these aims."

In May 2008 new elections of the committee took place at AS interface China. Mr. Wang Xiao Feng from Siemens was elected for the new chairman of the board. Secretary of AS-Interface China is Mr. Zheng Xu from the company ITEI.

In the world of automation speed is important. It is not only the speed of the final machine, it is as well the time of installation. What is it good for to have the best one when you have to wait for it? The start of production and in fact of this the installation time is an important figure. And this is exactly where AS-Interface places the lever. Besides the benefits of easy planning, the quick installation is an significant profit of AS-Interface.
AS-Interface showed this speed impressive with an chase at HMI 2008. To connect an Emergency Stop with AS-Interface was the task that many visitors of the AS-Interface booth took. Many trade fair visitors managed to connect and engage the E-Stop in less than 20 seconds. AS-International congratulates the daily winners:
