Pepperl+Fuchs offers a TÜV approved safe AS-Interface module VAA-2E2A-KE1-S/E2 for switch boxes with 2 outputs and 2 safe inputs in the KE1 housing (BxHxT: 22,5x100x50 mm). Safety relevant parts of plants and machines can so be easily connected to the AS-Interface. Depending on the inputs the 2 outputs can be controlled and mapped without action of the Master or PLC. The safety monitor monitors the communication by using specific code sequences for all safe modules. In case of any failure the monitor make sure the safe state within <40 msec. The KE1 style allows to replace the common PNOZ switches pretty simple and many in-/outputs can be integrated in cramped surroundings. The height of only 50 mm enabled an integration in flat switch boxes. Safety technique and sensoric can be integrated on one and the same AS-Interface flat cable optimizing mounting times and installation costs.

The 2 safe inputs can be internally mapped to the outputs of the modul with a simple parameter bit. Up to now this has to be done by the master or PLC with a specific program sequence. This module simplifies the program routine in the master / PLC and helps to get running the AS-Interface system faster. Coulored clamps simplifies also the installation. Due to the plug-in clamps a replacement is easy too. At a very small width of 22 mm 2 safe inputs and 2 outputs are integrated. This offers the possibility to integrate safety relevant parts at low costs to AS-Interface.
