    AS-Interface showed this speed impressive with an chase at HMI 2008. To connect an Emergency Stop with AS-Interface was the task that many visitors of the AS-Interface booth took. The figures prove the manufacturers good feelings. The AS-Interface standard components showed a wealthy grow.

    AS-Interface is the market leader in the Sensor/Aktuator level, with more than 13,5 Million nodes in the field, a well situated position. For the last years AS-Interface showed a continues almost predictable growth. The current turnover increase in the European market meets expected values.

    The success of the safety technology with AS-Interface is resounding, in the first half year 2007, 62% more safety devices have been sold than in second half year 2006. The simplicity is the winning seller of AS-Interface in this point. There have been already 350.000 safety devices with AS-Interface in the field last year. The benefits in costs of AS-Interface obviously have worked the circuit, for this reason a consequent trend has to be considered.

To open new laboratory capacities in Asia and America, AS-Interface has recreated the AS-Interface accreditation.

    More than 1000 certified products are available. A success that consists in demanding tests closed to the application. Having certified products the user can rely on the compliance to the specification. Only technical correct products pass the tests. To keep this up on the international development, the accreditation has been recreated. The AS-Interface Laboratories in Leipzig (STZ) and Amberg (Siemens) have proven well on the new accreditation. For AS-Interface the importance of international markets have been increasing well for the last years. For this reason an increasing demand of laboratories in Asia and America came up. With the new rules of accreditation there is the opportunity to do so on a high level.

The core subject had gathered around the questions: Which system gives the maximum benefit and what are the synergetic effects using AS-Interface and Ethernet systems.

    In general good cooperating communication systems achive a better overall than single "universal systems". This was the conviction of the information congress on June 20th 2007 in Switzerland. Professor Scheitlin of the Zurich University of Applied Siences Wintertuhr pointed out by a view to the efficiency what single sided solutions can cost.

    The visited application in the brewery Feldschlösschen was presented by Albert Klemm (Kundert Engineering). The application shows clearly the benefits and synergetic effects in the use of optimised systems.

Different Safety zones required a logical link between the safety devices. The use of AS-Interface saved 32% compared to conventional wiring technology.

    The investigation was made for the thesis of Guido Vajna de Pava under the supervision of Professor Ezio Bassi at the University of Pavia. The robot cell had been realised with AS-Interface. The projected savings could be realised. Due to the simple installation, the production was able to start earlier than with a installation by conventional wiring.
